2020 Seed Grant to Support CRRD Research Projects
The Centre for Research in Reproduction and Development (CRRD) at McGill University is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity, the 2020 Seed Grant.
Goal: To provide money to support new or ongoing research that will lead to external funding and dissemination of data through publications, while increasing visibility of the CRRD and its members. Specifically:
- To support a new collaboration or project between CRRD member laboratories (must involve 2 or more labs, collaborations between a CRRD member and non-member will also be considered); or
- To support an established research project that requires an injection of new funds to: 1) complete final experiments needed for publication, or 2) provide needed data for a grant application, particularly if requested by reviewers.
Eligibility: All members of the CRRD are eligible.
Funds available: $25,000 (one grant)
Deadline for applications: November 30, 2019
Notification of Decisions: January 31, 2020
Term of award: February 2020 – January 2021
How to apply: Send the application form and associated documents to crrd [at] mcgill.ca. Application forms: 2020 Seed Grant Application.
Method of evaluation: The CRRD Awards Subcommittee will establish a review committee of at least three members (depending on the size of the application pool), including one non-CRRD member. Members of this subcommittee cannot have applications in the competition. The Subcommittee will review, discuss, and assign a final ranking to all applications. Based on these reviews the Subcommittee will make a recommendation to the CRRD Co-Directors, who will announce the winner publicly.
Requirements for successful applicants: Successful applicants must submit a final report (up to 500 words) to the CRRD Co-Directors no later than 3 months after the end of the support period (January 2021). Consideration for future support from the CRRD is conditional upon receipt of this report.
Seed Grant recipients are requested to cite the Centre for Research in Reproduction and Development at McGill University in all communications supported by this award.
