Consumer behaviour has changed dramatically during the pandemic. Public health restrictions have played a major role, but a trend toward e-commerce and omni-channel retail was already underway. It has only accelerated.

“Companies now need to show a lot of creativity and resilience. External factors are having a huge impact on operations,” says Charles de Brabant, Executive Director of the Bensadoun School of Retail Management at McGill University. “Consumer behaviour changes, technology changes, and now supply chain disruptions are causing inflationary pressures.

Congratulations to violinist Julia Mirzoev, winner of the 2021-2022 Golden Violin Award

The award includes a $30,000 cash prize, as well as a smaller likeness of the violin in the form of a 14-karat gold lapel pin. In addition, the winner will perform in the upcoming Schulich concert season and receives 6 hours of career coaching sessions with Marie-Catherine Lapointe of Boulevart Artists’ Management in Montreal.

Species adapt to their local climates, but how often they adapt to their local communities remains a mystery. To find answers, researchers at McGill University and the University of British Columbia examined over 125 studies testing local adaptation in over 100 species of plants and animals in an article published in The American Naturalist.

The accounting team composed of BCom students Emma Alder and Sami Zubair took 3rd place at the 37th annual ICBC (Inter-Collegiate Business Competition) held at Queen's University held from January 15 to 17, 2015.

In October 2014,  the team competed with over 20 other teams in a written case competition, finishing top six.  These six teams were invited to Queen's University in January 2015, where they had 5.5 hours to analyze a new case that was then presented to a panel of representatives of the business community.
