Contractors for the City of Montreal will be working on modifications to the east sidewalk on McTavish Street (between Sherbrooke and Dr. Penfield) from Monday, November 8 to Wednesday, November 10 inclusive. A security perimeter will be installed to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

When the construction work is completed, the Schulich Library will feature: more study and workspaces, improved accessibility, restored exterior masonry, a new HVAC system, and an expanded number of washrooms.

Background: The Macdonald-Stewart Library Building that houses the Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering will undergo significant structural repairs and major internal upgrades over the next two years, beginning May 15, 2019. As a result, Schulich Library is now closed temporarily. Collections, services and staff will be relocated to the Humanities and Social Sciences Library for the duration of the renovation.

The Macdonald Campus Library is undergoing roof repairs that began in early June of 2018.

The Library will be open but there will likely be additional noise. We have earplugs on hand at the service desk should you need them. The windows must remain closed as there will be dust and debris in the surrounding air.

The two heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the Education Building will be replaced this summer. As a result of this renovation work, the Education Curriculum Resources Centre will temporarily close from Saturday, August 5 to Sunday, August 27. During this time, the collection will be unavailable. The last day to submit hold requests will be Wednesday, July 19.
