Please be advised that McGill University has mandated Constructions Seni Inc. to carry out the following project: 19-078 Otto Maass Chemistry – CFI IF 2020, Cooke.

The project consists of the transformation of the existing wet laboratory OM 025 into a dry laboratory to accommodate new class-4 lasers.

Construction start date: June 10, 2024

Planned construction end date: January 2025

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Additional hours to be coordinated with affected stakeholders.

Working Nation, a US-based organization working to highlight career/technical education and vocational training across the country asked Dr. Michael Lipset (DISE) to appear on their video-based YouTube series highlighting workforce efforts in education.

Filmed at SXSW EDU 2024, the video was one of a series of guest spots they filmed throughout the week and covers 4 Learning’s approach to school change, which includes vocational training in the recording arts, business of music and media, and other creative endeavors.

As workspaces on the main floor of McLennan-Redpath Library Complex are temporarily inaccessible through late June 2024, additional guest computers have been added to the main floor of the Redpath Library Building for public use near the entrance. These workstations will be accessible during opening hours

During the week of June 3, 2024, standard archeological and soil investigations will be conducted along McTavish Street around Redpath Hall and the McTavish Wing of the Redpath Library Building to assess the building envelope. Redpath Hall and the Redpath Library Building are part of a designated heritage site. Standard protocol requires that McGill conduct excavation work before starting any construction projects.

Two faculty members of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology joined forces to bridge the field of cryo-electron microscopy (Mike Strauss) and extracellular matrix cell biology (Dieter Reinhardt). This interdisciplinary team also spanned faculties across McGill, as Michael Wozny (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) and Valentin Nelea (Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences) spearheaded the experimental approaches together with other team members and a visiting scholar.
