New technology with all of its promise in the lab has exciting potential. Sometimes the biggest challenge to realizing its potential in industry is to identify the best market opportunity and focus on developing that opportunity. It is easy to get distracted with multiple possibilities so how do you truly narrow down to the best market and make it happen? It is important to determine where a technology has a competitive advantage and a good channel to market to make that decision. This requires an understanding of both the attributes of the new technology and the targeted market then the tools and methods to use that combined knowledge to create a winning commercial innovation.
