The importance of web accessibility

At McGill we aim to create an accessible and inclusive campus, and this includes our digital spaces.

McGill's websites must meet web accessibility requirements outlined by the Government of Quebec in the Standard sur l'accessibilité des sites Web (SGQRI 008 2.0). Do you know if your site makes the grade? Attend our two-part event series to learn how to make your site accessible.

What you'll learn

Our info session in early February will feature an overview of key accessibility requirements McGill's site managers and editors need to be aware of. We'll also look at different methods for creating accessible content, as well as tools you can use to evaluate your website.

Attend our follow-up accessibility hackathon in late February to get one-on-one help reviewing your site and addressing accessibility issues. Members of McGill's unified web team from Digital Communications and the Web Service Group will be on hand to help you assess your website and fix accessibility issues.
