Gain insight into the contemporary global business landscape with a concentration in Strategic Management—Global Strategy.

A strategic focus on globalization is a key requirement for organizations across the world. As a Global Strategy student, you will learn how to apply strategic thinking in an increasingly complex global market and explore the implications of business decisions for global competitiveness.

Since globalization affects all sectors, this concentration gives you the tools necessary to understand industry structures and competitive dynamics in a global context. You will have opportunities to analyze and enhance organizational capabilities and to assess the requirements of doing business in different economic and political systems. Global Strategy adds an overarching, holistic and integrated perspective to other Desautels concentrations and majors.

  • Business developer in start-ups, business units, and small enterprises

Instructors in the concentration favour real-time, interactive, case-based learning as opposed to lecturing.

Student experience

 The Global Strategy curriculum provides ample opportunity for case-based learning, field projects, and engagement with practicing managers and business leaders. Students typically conduct strategic analyses or plans for actual companies, and may have the opportunity to present these to the company.
