Are you a social science or humanities undergraduate student that wishes to gain a broader interdisciplinary understanding of medicine and health issues?
The Social Studies of Medicine Minor Concentration will allow you to see medicine as it relates to different institutions, cultures, and political issues and concepts. You will finish the program with a greater understanding of how medicine and health are embedded into various parts of our lives. Courses are divided into three groups: History of Medicine, Anthropology of Medicine, and Sociology of Medicine.

If you are planning on entering one of the health professions, you will likely need a higher level of education before entering your career. If you are a social sciences or humanities student and are taking this minor out of interest, you have many options on how you wish to put your knowledge to use.
