The Tuberculosis Research Methods (TBRM) Course

The Tuberculosis Research Methods (TBRM) Course part of the McGill Summer Institutes is enrolling and will take place June 8–12, 2026. Options to attend both IN-PERSON (9am–5pm daily) or VIRTUAL (9am–2pm daily). All sessions are recorded and able to be viewed at your leisure if you are not able to attend synchronously.

This course is designed for those working in or entering the field of tuberculosis research and covers both foundational methods and the latest developments in TB diagnosis, treatment, drug resistance, and prevention.

Morning sessions focus on key methodologies including operational research, systematic reviews, randomized trials, and economic analysis. Afternoon sessions include biostatistics primers, late-breaker findings from faculty, and hands-on group work leading to final presentations (group work for IN-PERSON ATTENDEES ONLY).

The McGill TB Centre will sponsor approximately 10 students who wish to enroll in the TBRM course. Sponsorship will cover payment for Registration only. Priority will be given to those attending in person, as well those working in LMIC and/or working with indigenous populations/supporting research activities in Northern communities.
