From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

On McGill24, March 13, 2024, members of the Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute held a live virtual panel discussing SASSI's innovative sports science research and its effect on performance as well as how new discoveries are helping elite athletes take their skills to the next level. SASSI Director, Dr. Julie Côté moderated the roundtable with panelists Paralympian Karolina Wisniewska, Dr. Philippe Dixon, a specialist in Artificial Intelligence and Sports Biomechanics, and SASSI Fellow, Thalia Krauth-Ibarz.

Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM (on-campus in-person event)

Join the Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute (SASSI) for a masterclass exploring how SASSI's research is innovating practices in sports sciences and athletic performance. Learn how new discoveries are advancing how we train our bodies and can take our skills to the next level - from elite athletes to everyday gym-goers. Registration is required for this event. Two tickets per registration.

 

Other Event Outreach

The Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute is striving to host regular public events. These events will be designed to advance sport science knowledge and collaboration with experts in the field. In addition to this, the events will provide the opportunity to connect with non-research experts such as sports bloggers, coaches, support staff, and athletes. In which, to gather information from those on or near to the field of play.

SASSI plans to host the following:

  1. A regular Sports Science Symposium at McGill University
  2. Roundtable discussions with local researchers, athletic teams, and support staff
