Dr. Zelkowitz’s research focuses on reproductive mental health. As the Principal Investigator of a CIHR Emerging Team in Perinatal Mental Health, she studies hormonal, epigenetic and psychosocial factors associated with maternal mental health and the developing mother-child relationship. Dr. Zelkowitz also investigates social and cultural factors that might contribute to experience of psychological distress in couples using assisted reproductive technology. She leads a CIHR team that will develop a novel mHealth intervention to promote physical and mental health in men facing fertility concerns.
