Miguel's doctoral research, titled “Students’ Motivation during AI-Assisted Multimodal Literacy and Pluriliteracies Development in EFL: An Intervention in Public Schools Under the National Plan for Bilingualism in Bogotá, Colombia,” supervised by Dr. Angelica Galante, focuses on examining how AI-assisted multimodal technologies can foster literacy and pluriliteracies development while enhancing students' motivation in second/foreign language learning. The goal of his research is to equip students with the agency and the analytical and critical thinking skills necessary to navigate multimodal technologies and AI in an increasingly pluricultural and plurilingual world.
