The New Student Mentorship Program pairs new Canadian undergraduate and graduate students with a returning McGill student to help them navigate their first year at McGill

New students (mentees)
- Get matched with a trained upper-year mentor
- Have regular one-on-one check-ins with a mentor monthly throughout the academic year
- Receive valuable advice from first-hand experience on navigating university life, campus resources, and Montreal
- Participate in regular social events like ice skating, cookie decorating, and more to meet other students!
Returning students (mentors)
- Receive training to prepare you for building a healthy and successful relationship with your mentee(s)
- Get matched with incoming McGill students
- Stay in regular touch with your mentee(s) with monthly meetings
- Attend monthly mentor check-ins to update CL&E staff on your mentee(s)' progress
- Participate in regular social events like ice skating, cookie decorating, and more to meet other students from the program
Please note that due to high demand, we match students on a first-come first-served basis. Please apply early! If we cannot match you right away, we will keep your application on file and match you when a mentor becomes available.
