The TRANSFORM Partnership

A special feature of the TRANSFORM Partnership is the connection, directly or indirectly,  of 19 centres, labs, studios, and institutes focused on one of more of the following: participatory visual and other arts-based methodologies, community engagement, social change, transformative forms of engagement. 

Spread across the various partner universities in six countries, this unique network serves variety of functions:

  • A knowledge mobilization hub
  • Knowledge exchange
  • Potential for new collaborations
  • Support to TRANSFORM’S Y2Y strategy
  • Facilitating a mentoring and training agenda
  • Advancing research in related areas of participatory visual methodologies and social change

There are thirteen labs in Canada including:

In the United States there is the Dolores Huerta Research Center for the Americas at the University of California Santa Cruz

In Mexico there is the Centro de Investigaciones sobre America del Norte at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico

In Nigeria there is the Aaye Odo Lab with the University of Waterloo 

In South Africa there are two centres:

And in Australia there is the Centre for Transformative Media Technologies at the Swinburne University of Technology
