The feminist embroidery group TRANSFORM(émonos) is located at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in México City. The team is composed of young adults, both academics and artists in their 20s and 30s, from different parts of México, including Tsanda Nieto Bernal, Thes Gabriel Lazcano, Brenda Ojina Ojinaga Zapata, and Miguel Ángel Sosme. The site is supported by Dr. Graciela Martínez‑Zalce, a member of the Centro de Investigaciones sobre América del Norte (CISAN). The México site participated in the local photovoice workshops, the Transnational Summit in 2025, the Radical Methods Lab, and now the Youth Studying Change Lab.
This is the site that introduced political embroidery to TRANSFORM, building on their previous work and experience in this practice. The team took the photovoice exhibition Youth United Will Never Be Defeated, printed nine photographs, and embroidered them with their own messages and reflections, further evolving and deepening the impact of the photovoice. They also regularly host workshops and public events to share their embroidery knowledge, positioning themselves as leaders in this growing feminist practice.
