Published: 16 May 2020

McGill University welcomed the announcement by the Prime Minister of $450M to ensure continuity in Canada’s academic research system, as well as the announcement by Minister Mendicino granting flexibility in post-graduation work permit rules to help attract international students to our programs.

“These announcements come in at a crucial and timely moment, and will assist universities in attracting, supporting and retaining the brightest graduate students and expert researchers, allowing Canada to maintain its global leadership in research”, said Principal Suzanne Fortier. “The engagement of universities in discovery and innovation is instrumental in addressing this global health crisis and supporting a robust recovery for all Canadians”.
