CBC - Canada's Julie Boulianne makes Met debut

French-Canadian mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne is on stage at the Metropolitan Opera in New York on Wednesday in Iphigénie en Tauride. Boulianne plays Diana in a production that stars mezzo-soprano Susan Graham as Iphigénie and the great tenor Placido Domingo as her long-lost brother Oreste…

Boulianne, a graduate of McGill University in Montreal and the Juilliard School of Music in New York, is scheduled to appear twice with the Met this season. She also has a role as Roméo's page Stéphano in Charles Gounod's Roméo et Juliette, a French-language opera which features Angela Gheorghiu as Juliette and Piotr Beczala as Roméo. That production, debuting March 3, will be conducted by Domingo.
