  • Upload your application documents

  • Submit your application to employers

If the job does not have the Apply button at the top of the screen, it's because you do not meet the qualifications criteria for the job, such as the required degree level or area of study. There is also a notification on the right side of the job overview page. If you believe this to be in error, please contact myfuture [at] mcgill.ca (myfuture[at]mcgill[dot]ca).

Manage Your Job Application Documents

When applying for a job, the job application wizard will allow you to upload documents and create application packages. You can also choose to upload new application documents, manage files you previously added to the system, and create new application packages in the Documents module.

  1. On the top navigation menu, click "My Application Documents"
  2. To manage documents, select a time frame from the dropdown menu and then click into the document type (i.e. "Cover Letter") to view documents.
  3. To upload new documents, use the "Upload Document" button in the top right.
  4. To create a new application package that can be used when applying to specific jobs, use the "Create Application Package" button in the top right.

myFuture will ask you to name documents as you upload them. Give them a name that will help you remember what the document is for. For example, if you upload a cover letter that you have customized for a specific job application or employer, include the company name and date in the file name.

When uploading .doc or .docx files, they will be converted to PDFs and may not be available immediately on myFuture. If you cannot see them after some time, verify the Documents menu. If there was an issue with the upload the document will have a Broken Document note.
