This accredited/certified CPD activity includes both a learning module as well as a two-phase practice-assessment component.
For physicians practicing in Quebec, this activity is a timely opportunity to earn Section B Recognized Hours required by December 31st, 2023.
FAMILY PHYSICIANS
This two-credit-per-hour Assessment program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Quebec College of Family Physicians, a continuing professional development-accrediting organization recognized by the Collège des médecins du Québec, and has been approved for 20 Mainpro+® credits.
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the Office for Continuing Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University for up to 2 Mainpro+® credits.
Members of the American Academy of Family Physicians are eligible to receive up to 2 Prescribed credit hours for attendance at this meeting/event due to a reciprocal agreement with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Steps to complete to obtain the credits mentioned above:
Step 1:
- Reflect on the benefits, challenges, and pitfalls of 5-10 past telemedicine cases
- Complete a Case-Reflect questionnaire - Part 1
- Via the course discussion board, post a minimum of two reflections on your telemedicine practice and provide a minimum of two feedback comments to your peers.

CFPC: maximum of 10 Mainpro+® Assessment credits (.5hr/case X 2 credits/hours)
CMQ: maximum of 5 Section B Recognized Hours
Step 2:
- Access and complete the online telemedicine module
- Interact and add comments via the course discussion board or Ask the Expert

Step 3: 2-3 months after completing Step 2
- Reflect on the benefits, challenges, and pitfalls of 5-10 new telemedicine cases

ROYAL COLLEGE MEMBERS
This activity is an accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3 – Practice Assessment) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Office for Continuing Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University. You may claim a maximum of 10 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
This program meets the accreditation criteria as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and has been accredited by the Office for Continuing Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University for up to 2 MOC Section 1 (Accredited Group Learning Activity) credits.
Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Royal College-MOC Program Section 3 - Practice-Assessment Criteria
Step 1:
- Reflect on the management of 10 past telemedicine cases from your practice (minimum required by the Royal College)
- Complete a Case-Reflect questionnaire - Part 1: reflect on the benefits, challenges, and pitfalls of these telemedicine encounters by comparing your performance against hospital guidelines, teamwork expectations, etc.
- Share and discuss your findings with trusted colleagues, peers, or mentors to get feedback on the identified gaps.
- Use the feedback collected to identify the actions you will take to close the gap between your current performance and your desired performance.
- Document your process and the outcomes in your MAINPORT ePortfolio

Royal College: maximum of 5 hours (.5hr/case X 3 credits) = 15 MOC Section 3 Practice Assessment credits
CMQ: maximum of 5 Section B Recognized Hours
Step 2:
- Access and complete the online telemedicine module

- Ask trusted colleagues, peers or mentors to review your telemedicine practice to measure your progress since completing step 1
- Document your process and the outcomes in your MAINPORT ePortfolio
