Professor of Mechanical Engineering Lucjan Kops died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 19, approximately one year after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His friend and colleague Dr Helmi Attia was with Prof Kops at the time of his death. “He was in comfort and in the care of a doctor and nurse who were taking very good care of him,” Dr Attia said. “He will be missed for his kindness and the contributions he made over the years to the manufacturing teaching and research at our department.” Prof Kops will be buried in Poland, but a funeral service will be held this Friday at 3pm at Paperman & Sons Funeral Home.
