Samantha Larocque

Program Advisor

Of Canadian and Indian descent, Samantha was born in Montreal and raised in India and Thailand. After high school, she returned to Montreal and took a year off to work before beginning her undergraduate degree at McGill University. During this time, she held several student support roles on campus. Her experience helping students find community and access the support they needed to succeed inspired her to pursue a career in student services in higher education.

Samantha completed her Master of Education in Student Services and Student Development at the University of Toronto in 2017. Since then, she has held a variety of student-facing roles at Toronto Metropolitan University and Concordia University. Through this work, she has developed expertise in academic advising, orientation programming, experiential learning, instructional design, and accessibility best practices. Samantha believes that post-secondary education can be a profoundly transformative experience—especially when students have the right support along the way. She enjoys collaborating with students and helping them make the most of their university experience.
