The Institute of Air and Space Law (IASL) recently hosted two remarkable events, each underscoring the strength and spirit of our community. From celebrating the generosity of our benefactors to welcoming new alumni, these gatherings reflected the shared commitment to advancing research and fostering connections in the field of air and space law.

Meet and Greet with Cynda Collins Arsenault: Honoring a Legacy of Support

IASL students and faculty had the unique opportunity to meet Cynda Collins Arsenault, a distinguished supporter whose family’s generosity has profoundly impacted the Institute. The Collins-Arsenault family’s substantial donations have paved the way for groundbreaking research in the peaceful uses of outer space, providing invaluable support for LL.M. candidates, DCL students, and postdoctoral fellows.

During the event,  Cynda shared the inspiring history behind her family’s commitment to the IASL. She expressed her joy in seeing how these contributions have empowered students to pursue advanced research and innovative projects. She also spoke about the importance of encouraging women to pursue careers in the space sector, emphasizing the need for inclusive growth and representation in the industry.

Students were deeply appreciative of the chance to engage with Cynda, whose vision and generosity continue to shape the future of space law scholarship.

Annual Alumni Meeting: Welcoming the Next Generation

In another highlight of the season, the IASL held its annual alumni meeting- a cherished tradition that brings together graduates from around the world. This year, the Institute proudly inducted nine new graduates into the IASL Alumni Association, celebrating their achievements and welcoming them into a global network of accomplished professionals. The event provided a platform for alumni to reconnect, share experiences, and offer guidance to the newest members of the community. The induction ceremony underscored the enduring bonds formed at the IASL and the Institute’s commitment to fostering lifelong connections among its graduates.

Both events exemplify the vibrant, supportive community that defines the IASL. The Institute extends its heartfelt thanks to Cynda Collins Arsenault and the Collins-Arsenault family for their unwavering support, and congratulates the newest members of the alumni association. Together, we look forward to continuing our mission of advancing air and space law through research, education, and global collaboration.
