IASL in Africa

The McGill Institute of Air and Space Law had the opportunity to witness the historic launch of the African Space Agency and participate in the NewSpace Africa Conference which took place in Cairo, Egypt. Dr. Arnold Agaba, Ph.D. and Ms. Mirette Elgawahry took part on behalf of the IASL.
The Institute also had the privilege of participating in the vibrant workshop at Mansoura University on the theme of “Training air and space experts in Africa”. The workshop attracted students and academics who discussed the strategic importance and value of the education of air and space experts and the role African universities can play in developing specialized training programs. The Institute is pleased to have held several meetings with key stakeholders in the African space sector on the sidelines of these events. The Institute remains committed to supporting Africa to build capacity of experts capable of building robust and sustainable aviation and space economies in Africa.
