Private corporations are under a legal obligation to respect international human rights. This is an emerging consensus on the international level. But how does this operate in practice? What does it mean that a private company is bound by human rights? And what do we mean by human rights in the field of business and who, finally, shall enforce the respective obligations? The seminar will address these issues from a practitioner’s perspective. The focus will be on what companies can do in order to ensure compliance with human rights obligations and reduce liability risks as a component of a sustainable company policy.
