Jeremias Prassl: "Gigs, tasks and rides are work - and should be regulated as such."

The Labour Law and Development Research Laboratory is pleased to invite you to a lecture by Jeremias Prassl, Faculty of Law, Oxford University.

The lecture will consist of a presentation of Professor Prassl's recent book "Humans as a Service: the Promise and Perils of Work in the Gig Economy," during which he will offer an engaging account of the opportunities, challenges and large implications of "on-demand work" for employment law. Professor Prassl will also address how we can ensure decent working conditions, protect consumers and foster innovation amidst the rise of the "gig economy." A question period will follow.

About the lecturer

Jeremias Prassl is a Fellow of Magdalen College and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law at Oxford University. His research interests are in the field of employment law and technology. Jeremias read law at Oxford, Paris, and Harvard, and regularly advises public and private sector organisations around the world on regulating the gig economy.
