Sarah Mendelsohn (M.Sc. 2011)My McGill IWRM internship was a project conducted in collaboration with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev under the supervision of Dr. Yaakov Garb.  Our research began with the evaluation of Palestinian water worlds with a focus on household water systems in the West Bank.  The research developed into the inclusion of waste management practices.  I continued with this research for one year following my internship, including the evaluation of future research, applications in the region and securing funding.  In May 2012, I began working as the Executive Director of The Water Trust.  The Water Trust provides sustainable investments in water, sanitation and hygiene to combat disease and poverty in the developing world. The Water Trust is currently working in rural villages in Uganda implementing hand dug wells, boreholes, rainwater harvesting systems, sanitation improvements, hygiene training and monitoring and evaluation tools for each project.  I am based in New York.
