Dean's Medal for Great Distinction in the MBA Program

Eligibility A sterling silver medal will be awarded each Spring by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee to the leading student in the full-time MBA program.

Desautels MBA Entrance Award

Each year the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee awards a limited number of Desautels MBA Entrance Fellowships.

Dominic K.M. Lai MBA Fellowship

Established in 2016 by Dominic K.M. Lai, BSc 1977, MBA 1979, to support outstanding students entering or enrolled in the MBA Program at the Desautels Faculty of Management.

Donald E. Armstrong Award

Established by Seymour Schulich, B.Sc. 1961, MBA 1965, and Lawrence Bloomberg, MBA 1965, in 1996 in honour of Donald E. Armstrong, founding Director of McGill's Graduate School of Commerce.

Eligibility Awarded by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee on the basis of high academic standing, proven leadership skills and active involvement in the community to a student in the MBA program. Candidates must submit an application and financial form.

Dr. Peter Briant Award for Entrepreneurship

Established by Seymour Schulich in memory of Professor Peter Briant, a teacher and mentor to many in the Desautels Faculty of Management.

Eligibility

Awarded to Canadian students in the first year of the full-time MBA program by the Desautels Faculty of Management. This award will be granted on the basis of entrepreneurial experience, potential and general scholastic ability. Candidates must submit an application, a statement providing evidence of entrepreneurial potential, a curriculum vitae and financial form.

Edward Ballon Graduate Award in Management

Established in 1998 by the John Dobson Foundation in honour of Edward M. Ballon, B.A. 1947, a distinguished graduate who, while a student at McGill, was captain of the McGill Track Team, President of the Students' Society of McGill and President of the Students Athletics Council. He later became President of the McGill Graduate Society and a member of the Board of Governors of the University.

Eligibility Awarded by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee to a full-time student entering the MBA program on the basis of high academic standing, demonstrated leadership skills through involvement in extra-curricular activities and participation in a competitive sport. Candidates must be Canadian citizens.
Value $2,000 - $2,500
Application Applicants must submit a one-page statement detailing their involvement in extra-curricular activities and participation in a competitive sport. The statement must be submitted at the time of application to the program.

Executive Development Institute (E.D.I.) Bursary

Eligibility Awarded on the basis of work experience and financial need to Canadian students entering the second year of the full-time MBA program from the part-time MBA program.

Awarded by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee upon recommendation by the Student Aid Office. Candidates must submit a curriculum vitae and a financial aid form.

Fondation Pierre Arbour

The Board of Directors of the newly established foundation is pleased to announce the launching of activities of this charitable organization whose mission consists in helping students to pursue advanced studies at the Master's and Doctorate levels. The Foundation was created on December 30th, 2005 thanks to the donation of the assets of Alkebec Inc., an investment firm owned by Pierre Arbour. Deserving students in financial need will be selected for academic studies susceptible to promoting Quebec's economic growth in the following disciplines: Business Administration (MBA), engineering, and computer science.

Eligibility Applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants with permanent residency in Quebec pursuing their MBA on a full-time basis. Applicants cannot be holders of a Master’s degree prior to commencing their MBA studies.
Value $8,000 (renewable)
Application Candidates must complete the online application form found at www.fondationarbour.ca and submit it along with their MBA application.

Guizzetti Gendron MBA Leadership Award

Established in 2010 by Liana Guizzetti and Louis Gendron, both MBA 1988. Awarded by the Desautels Faculty of Management MBA Scholarships Committee to a graduate student enrolled in the MBA program in the Desautels Faculty of Management who demonstrates strong leadership qualities. Preference will be given to students from Quebec.

Value Up to $14,000 (non-renewable)
Application Eligible students wishing to be considered should submit appropriate documentation supporting their strong leadership qualities.

H.E. Herschorn Graduate Scholarship

Eligibility Awarded by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee; no application necessary. Established in 1965, tenable by a student entering either the first or the second year of the MBA program. Open to Canadian students only.

Laurentian Bank MBA Leadership Awards

Established in 2011 by the Laurentian Bank of Canada.

Eligibility Support for outstanding MBA students who demonstrate strong leadership qualities in the Desautels Faculty of Management. Awarded to full-time students by the Master's Programs Office of the Desautels Faculty of Management with a preference to students from the Province of Quebec.

MBA Class of 1997 Leadership Award

Established in 2023 by the MBA Class of 1997 to endorse the need for student learning to go beyond the classroom.

Eligibility Awarded by the Master’s Program Office of the Desautels Faculty of Management on the basis of academic merit and demonstrated leadership skills to an outstanding student enrolled in the MBA program at the Desautels Faculty of Management. First preference will be given to students who have demonstrated leadership either through their field of studies, volunteerism, or extra-curricular activities in environmental or social sustainability. Second preference will be given to students facing systemic barriers to education.
