Welcome to Education and Community Engagement in the FMHS

The Office of the Vice-Dean, Education and Community Engagement works in support of the socially accountable vision of healthier societies through education, discovery, collaboration, and clinical care. Our education programs provide robust and comprehensive health science education and professional training in medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language pathology, biomedical and health sciences, and population and global health.

Our mission is to educate future and current health care professionals and scientists based on our commitment to excellence, social accountability and lifelong learning, together with the pursuit of novel research and clinical innovation, to improve the health of individuals and populations worldwide.

The Office of the Vice-Dean, Education and Community Engagement supports the overarching educational and community engagement missions of the FMHS, which includes Indigenous priorities, faculty enrichment and development, anti-Black racism initiatives, interprofessional education, and innovative modalities of teaching and learning. We provide strategic support to all six Schools in the FMHS through close collaboration with the Associate Deans and Directors, liaising with the broader University, and engaging with provincial and national leaders in education and community engagement.
