Health Psychology Laboratory

We develop theory-derived intensive behavioral interventions for physical and psychological health behavior change and evaluate them in randomized controlled trials. For example, we are currently developing and testing the effectiveness of a series of behavioral weight management programs that target emotional eating. We are also developing a therapy-companion mobile app for the practice of exercises of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Other projects include the promotion of sleep in adolescents, the mechanisms and effects of mindfulness interventions, the study of vaccine hesitancy, and improving medication adherence.
