Health Psychology Laboratory

In the broadest sense, our research is applied social cognition with a focus on health. More specifically, we study how individuals make health related judgments (e.g., risk evaluations), how cognitions (e.g., health beliefs) influence health behaviour, and how interventions can be used to promote health behaviour.

We currently study these processes mainly in the area of eating behaviour (dieting, obesity, diabetes), physical activity, sleep, and medication adherence, and develop interventions combining implementation intentions and mental imagery, for example to increase fruit consumption, curb cravings, or increase medication adherence.
