Healthy Brains for Healthy Lives (HBHL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Krystle van Hoof as Managing Director and CEO

Over the past two decades, Krystle held a variety of leadership positions within the federal government, the United Nations and the non-profit sector.

Most recently, as Assistant Director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Institute of Gender and Health, Krystle developed and implemented innovative strategic initiatives to strengthen the delivery of $8.5 million in annual research funding.

She has been recognized for her skill in change management and team building. She also brings a wealth of experience defining and guiding day-to-day operations, including the administration of complex financial systems in the health research environment.

An expert in knowledge translation, Krystle led communications departments for two Canadian associations—work that has been recognized with three national awards. She was also the head of communications at the United Nations World Food Programme’s Country Office in Bamako, Mali.

In her new role as Managing Director and CEO, which she will assume on June 10, Krystle will be responsible for carrying forward the strategic vision of the HBHL initiative while overseeing the ongoing implementation of a set of complex, high profile funding programs and innovation partnerships within the neuroscience and related communities at McGill, in Canada and beyond.
