1. Carefully review your offer of admission
Review your offer and the checklist in the Applicant Portal to ensure that you have met all your Conditions of Admissions and submitted all required official documents (e.g. proof of graduation).
International students are required to submit additional mandatory immigration documents. Find out more in the Requirements for International Students section.
Advise your department if you are unable to meet a condition stipulated in your offer.
2. Log into Minerva
Use your McGill ID and your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to login into Minerva. Through Minerva you can access your student file which includes registration information.
The Minerva PIN is determined as follows:
- If you have never studied or worked at at McGill: the default PIN is your date of birth (YYMMDD). For example, if you were born on July 25, 1989, your default PIN will be 890725
- Current or past students or employees at McGill may continue to use their Minerva PIN without resetting it.

3. Set up your other accounts and IT Tools
Consult the myMcGill portal to access Minerva, myCourses, your McGill email, and various library resources.
Log in to Minerva to update your personal information including your address, telephone number, emergency contacts.
Visit Student Records to learn how to add a preferred First Name, to change your email alias or update the name that will appear on your Student ID card.

4. Check your tuition and other fees
Learn about tuition and fees by visiting the Student Accounts website.
e-Bills are issued in Minerva, and fees for an upcoming term are usually available a month before the start date of the term. Pay your tuition on time to avoid penalties. Review the payment deadlines by visiting the Deadlines and penalties webpage.

Did you receive an award, scholarship, or financial assistance? Visit the Awards and financial assistance webpage to learn more about when the funds will appear in your fee account.
5. Register for your courses and complete the required online training
You must register for courses on Minerva. For registration instructions, important dates, and information about required online training modules for all graduate students, visit the Registration section.
