Program Description
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Religious Studies offered by the School of Religious Studies in the Faculty of Arts focuses on research engagement with a broad spectrum of critical research involving different interdisciplinary approaches, research and teaching in the various different religious traditions.
The program may also be taken as a Gender and Women's Studies option which focuses on feminist, women's, and gender studies in relation to religious traditions.

Unique Program Features
- Typically, students receive external and internal funding;
- Additionally funding may be available for travel for the purposes of research (including archival research or field work) and the dissemination of research (including conference presentations and talks);
- The School's Faculty members are committed to the training of teaching scholars, making it one of few schools that prioritizes offering graduate students opportunities (under faculty supervision) to teach/lecture during their time in the program;
- The School is affiliated with the Montreal Diocesan Theological College of the Anglican Church of Canada, the Presbyterian College Montreal, and the United Theological College of the United Church of Canada.

- An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
