Program Description
The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Aerospace Engineering (Non-Thesis) offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering is a course-based program that emphasizes contemporary and engaging learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in cutting-edge thinking, collaboration, and scientific communication to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).
Keywords: Aerodynamics, Propulsion Systems, Flight Mechanics, Aircraft Design, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Aerospace Materials, Structural Analysis, Systems Integration, Avionics, Spacecraft Engineering
Unique Program Features
- Offered in conjunction with Concordia University, Polytechnique Montréal, l'Université de Laval, l'Université de Sherbrooke, and l'École de Technologie Supérieure;
- Active participation from industry partners including an “Industrial Stage” of four months (i.e., engineering work in the aerospace industry);
- The program may be completed on a part-time basis;
- Our research and experimental facilities are home to state-of-the-art equipment (including a major wind tunnel facility) and extensive computational installations;
- Our professors collaborate with professors in other units, often through research centres including the Centre for Intelligent Machines (CIM), the McGill Institute for Advanced Materials (MIAM), and the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital (MNI).
University-Level Admission Requirements
- English-language proficiency
-
Since students are required to take at least two courses outside of McGill—potentially delivered in French—proficiency in French is an asset, though not a mandatory requirement.
Program-Specific Admission Requirement
- An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.3 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
Each program has specific admission requirements including required application documents. Please visit the program website for more details.
