Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarships

To apply for a Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation PhD Scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility requirements.

• Field of Study : Your field of study must be broadly related to the humanities or social sciences and address issues that are relevant to Canada’s future. Your PhD research must align with at least one of the Foundation’s four themes:
  • Human Rights and Dignity
  • Responsible Citizenship
  • Canada and the World
  • People and their Natural Environment

• Be a Canadian student currently registered or accepted in a doctoral program full-time in Canada or internationally
• Be an international student currently registered or accepted in a doctoral program full-time in Canada
• Candidates must be registered or accepted into a full-time doctoral program at the time they submit their application.
• At time of application, candidates must be in 1st or 2nd year of a full-time doctoral program.

• Eligible applicants will be contacted by the Foundation and given access to the Application online form. Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be reviewed. We therefore recommend carefully reviewing the eligibility requirements before submitting your application.
• There is no internal McGill selection process however you must inform your Academic Unit of your intention to apply.
