Dr. Yaffe’s pioneering work in elder care, notably the development of the Elder Abuse Suspicion Index (EASI), has had a profound impact both nationally and internationally. His commitment to improving mental health care is evident through his two-decade involvement with the DIRECT-sc research team, advancing depression management in older adults.
As the inaugural Coordinator of the Family Medicine Residency Training at St. Mary’s Hospital Center, Dr. Yaffe played a pivotal role in shaping one of Canada’s largest Family Medicine training programs. His foresight led to the establishment of over 25 rural training sites across Quebec, addressing healthcare disparities in underserved regions.
