Prof. Ehrlicher receives prestigious CIHR Project Grant
The Department of Bioengineering would like to congratulate Professor Allen Ehrlicher for his recent CIHR Project Grant. Professor Ehrlicher's project aims to explore how mechanical forces, such as compression of the nucleus, affect cellular aging and stem cell differentiation, particularly in Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS).
iGEM Winter 2025 Applications Open!
iGEM McGill is recruiting! Join an interdisciplinary team of undergraduate students to develop a synthetic biology project over the course of a year. We spend the winter semester on design, planning wet lab/dry lab projects, as well as related initiatives under our education, media, outreach, entrepreneurship, and finance subteams. The summer is then dedicated to full time wet lab (or dry lab) work.
McGill researchers awarded funding from NSERC for quantum science
On January 21, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), announced over $74 million in funding to support 107 quantum science projects, including fifteen to McGill researchers.

The Canadian Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Conference (CUBEC) is set to take place this January 25th, 9am - 6pm, at The Neuro on McGill University campus! CUBEC is an event bringing together passionate students (CEGEP, undergraduate, and graduate) and industry professionals in the field of biomedical engineering. Events include panel discussions with professionals from both academia and industry, workshops, case competition, and a networking event.

McGill IGEM team proudly secured a gold medal along with three nominations for Best Diagnostics, Best Software, and Best Parts Collection at the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Grand Jamboree in October 2024.
