You're invited! Now what?
Congratulations! You've made it to the next stage of our selection process.
This page provides you with instructions on how to let us know if you will be attending the interviews as well as important information on what you can expect from the multiple mini-interview format.
What are the McGill Asynchronous Multiple Mini-Interviews (MMI)?
Applicants invited for an interview will be interviewed using the multiple mini-interview (MMI) format. We use an asynchronous interview format, which means that applicants will be able to start and complete the interview on their own time by recording their answers between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 6, 2025. The interview will last less than an hour and must be completed in one go.
- The length of each station will vary depending on the question. However, you can expect each station to last on average 3 minutes which includes time to read, think, and then answer the question.
- Stations are designed to evaluate the various abilities and skills of the applicant we believe are important components in becoming a health professional. The MMIs can at times include themes that may be of a sensitive or personal nature for some candidates. Clinical skills are not tested.
- Preparation for the MMIs: It is unnecessary to pay for expensive training programs. We encourage you to be confident and be yourself! As with all interviews, you are encouraged to reflect on your skills and strengths. Consider resources like your university or community career centre to learn more about the MMI format.
- Feedback on your individual performance in MMI stations will not be provided.
When and where
The MMIs are held virtually on Thursday, February 6, 2025. They are accessible anytime between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Please allocate at least one hour to complete the interviews. You will receive more information about registering for the interview and the system that will be used.
It is your responsibility to be available for the interview date and record your answers within the given timeframe. No repeat interview sessions or special accommodations will be arranged. A candidate who does not attend may have their application cancelled.
Candidates invited for interviews by both Medicine and Dental Medicine need to attend each session offered by the faculties.
