Dentathon 2.0 - another successful edition!

Dentathon 2.0 was a great success with 40 participants from across the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences, including researchers, clinicians, residents, graduate  and undergraduate students, research assistants, and staff members. This second edition took place on February 6 at the Faculty, with the goal of providing seed funding for pilot projects to facilitate future applications to provincial and federal funding agencies, to enhance training of clinical and research students and fellows, and to increase visibility of dentistry-related problems in the research community. Dentathon also helps increase clinician involvement in research as clinicians and researchers team up during the event to work on a project together, building new relationships in the process.

A total of $30,000 in funding was available. Teams presented their project, and the audience then voted on which teams would receive funding.

The Dentathon 2.0 organization committee was made up of Dr. Svetlana Komarova, Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Dental Education, Dr. Belinda Nicolau, Assistant Dean, Research and Graduate Dental Education, Crystal Noronha, Graduate Students Officer, and former Research Administrator Rachel Hatcher. A special thank you to Alexander Vlaanderen and Leonardo dos Santos Alixandrino for their invaluable assistance.

Congratulations to all the winners!
