On December 14, 2022, Welcome Hall Mission welcomed the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences and Green Shield Canada to celebrate the announcement of construction on a new dental clinic. Thanks to a generous donation of $1.35 million from Green Shield, the clinic will be able to double the capacity of the Jim Lund Clinic and continue to provide free dental care for underserved people. "A beautiful smile is an indicator of health because it shows us our state of mental health and physical health" explains Dean Emami. The Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux (MSSS) is also contributing to the construction of the new clinic.
As of fall 2023, the new clinic will be able to meet the growing demand for dental care for lower income individuals, ensuring they are able to maintain good oral health.
