Mindfulness Sessions for Law Students

Every Monday, law students are invited to attend a drop-in 30-minute mindfulness session led by Professor Sébastien Jodoin and Gabrielle Petrucci, Local Wellness Advisor at the Faculty of Law.
Designed to introduce beginners to mindfulness as well as to build a community of mindful law students in the faculty, these sessions can accommodate all skills and comfort levels. Each session will begin by exploring the psychological and neuroscience research that supports the positive benefits of a key aspect of mindfulness. Next, students will learn about a specific mindfulness practice through hand-on activities they can apply in their daily lives. Finally, students will be taken through a guided meditation related to the key mindfulness theme explored that week.
These sessions are organized by the Canada Research Chair in Human Rights, Health, and the Environment in collaboration with the Student Wellness Hub. Sébastien Jodoin is an experienced meditator who has received training in mindfulness-based stress reduction. Gabrielle Petrucci is a sexologist and psychotherapist who provides wellness support for Law Students at McGill.
