If a picture is worth a thousand words, for Montreal, a word is worth not only a thousand pictures, but a thousand smells, sounds, tastes, experiences and landscapes. Montreal is named after the “Mont-Royal”, the hill and central park located in the middle of the island. On top of its 378 years, Montreal boasts a rich history reflected by its architecture, a juxtaposition of 19th century and onwards French and British influence, art deco, and modern skyscrapers, not to forget the unique structures remaining from the Expo 67. All this architecture can be appreciated in the same stroll, from the Old Port to downtown Montreal.
