The 4th Artful Inquiry Research Group International Symposium is an interdisciplinary forum for sharing scholarship, practices, and research on artful inquiries and methods. This year the theme of re/emergences will focus our conversations, art-making, learning and (un)learning. This year, there will be a 1.5 day in-person symposium. When submitting a proposal to this year’s symposium, we invite you to consider the following questions:
- How do the arts help us cope with uncertain times?
- How do you understand re/emergence in relation to your personal and professional work?
- Given the challenges of the past few years, which creative solutions have you adopted in your practice?
The presentation formats are :
- Paper Presentations: 15 minutes
- Visual/Artistic Presentation: 20 minutes
- Interactive Workshops*: 60 minutes
*A limited number of workshops will be accepted for presentation
We are looking for submissions from academics, artists, teachers, and students of all ages!
The symposium will be held at McGill University in the Faculty of Education. - 3700 McTavish St, H3A 1Y2, Montréal, QC
Presenters will be asked to submit a 500 word abstract before February 1st HERE or scan the QR code to access the Google Form for abstract submissions!
REGISTRATION is open now here and will close on February 28th with a focus on early registration before January 1st to allow for planning.
The regular cost for participation $175 CAN, with a reduced rate for students at $125 CAN, which includes wine & cheese event, breakfasts, and lunch.
We have held a block of rooms for our participants at the HÔTEL LE CANTLIE SUITES. The rate is 119$CAN +tax per night for single or double occupancy (paid by guest).

When booking please identify yourself as being part of the AIRG 2023 group. The deadline for individual reservations at this rate is Monday, March 27th, 2023.
(Participants may cancel their participation prior to March 5th, 2023 and the registration will be refunded minus 25$ administration fee.)
