Councils and Subcommittees

The Academic Policy Committee has responsibility for several councils and oversees subcommittees as necessary to help fulfill its mandate.

Research Advisory Council (RAC)

The RAC makes recommendations on research policies and the creation of new research centres as well as endorsements of research-related plans and reports to submit for approval.

Council of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS)

The CGPS develops regulations, guidelines and policies on graduate and postdoctoral studies; participates in strategic planning; and approves proposals for new graduate programs.

Subcommittee on Academic Freedom (SAF)

The SAF oversees the implementation of the Policy on Academic Freedom, investigates complaints of academic freedom violations, and makes recommendations.
