Headset policy

To stay safe and minimize contact, we recommend all students to bring their own headsets/earbuds for reservations.

Headsets with decent microphones and microphone holders are highly suggested since recording with a mask may reduce recording quality.

RECOMMENDED HEADSET MODELS

The following headsets have been tested and approved for use with the hardware and software installed at the AMLF and are available for purchase at the McGill Computer Store (680 Sherbrooke Street) or nearby stores:

  • The Plantronics Audio 355 Multimedia Stereo Headset
  • The Plantronics Audio 655 USB Stereo Headset
  • Logitech H-800 USB Wireless Headset
  • Logitech H-340 USB Headset

Note: Be aware that installing the driver for USB headsets may add to your set-up time.  

DISCLAIMER

Audio/video recordings must be of high quality, considering that students will have a mask on during recordings. We therefore urge everyone to buy one of the recommended models of headset.
The AMLF is not responsible for lost or stolen headsets.
The AMLF is not responsible for illness or injury resulting from the use of its headsets or any other equipment.
The AMLF will provide headsets to borrow at the facility.
