About Us
With a history dating back to the 1960s, McGill’s language labs have continually evolved to meet the needs of language learning.
Today, the Arts Multimedia Language Facility (AMLF) is a space consisting of three multimedia labs, a minilab, a meeting room and a lounge for activities. It provides a Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) environment for both teachers and students within the McGill community.
Our Mission
To promote excellence in language teaching, learning, and research through the integration of innovative technologies at the Faculty of Arts.
A Hub for Language Learning and Teaching
The facility empowers language departments from Arabic to Chinese to French by providing students and teachers with technology and interactive resources that promote multimedia learning and active participation.
Support for L2 Research and Academic Integrity
AMLF offers support for applied language research projects. As a controlled exam environment, it ensures secure and monitored use of technologies, without compromising fairness, transparency, or trust in academic work.
