McGill University Department of Bioengineering Programs
Established in 2012, the Department of Bioengineering is the newest department to join McGill University’s renowned Faculty of Engineering. McGill researchers from nearly all Faculty units, including seven Canada Research Chairs and many colleagues in the Faculties of Medicine, Science, and Agriculture and Environmental Sciences are actively involved in various areas of Bioengineering. Within our Department, the faculty are focusing on three major directions: biological materials and mechanics; biomolecular and cellular engineering; and biomedical, diagnostics and high throughput screening.
Bioengineering Undergraduate Program
This program is designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge in natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics, as they relate to the field of bioengineering.
Biological & Biomedical Engineering Interfaculty Graduate Program
Biological & Biomedical Engineering (BBME) is a joint graduate program involving the Department of Bioengineering in the Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Faculty of Medicine. This interfaculty program supports the growing trend in research universities towards formalized interdisciplinary studies and multi-faculty collaboration.
McGill University is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which peoples of the world now gather.
