L'Association des Bibliothécaires du Québec/Québec Library Association - McGill Student Chapter

ABQLA - Association des bibliothècaires de Quebec/Quebec Library Association

ABQLA is a great way to get connected with various librarians in the Montreal area. It is free to join and being a member gives you access to lots of networking and educational events throughout the year. In addition to student events (we usually hold an educational tour in fall and a social event in winter), chapters for Academic and Research Libraries, Public Libraries, Youth Libraries, and Children’s Libraries each hold their own events, which student members can attend for free. ABQLA is a great way to meet other librarians and see what’s actually happening in the field right now.

ABQLA will also be hosting a Peer Partnership Program for 2018-2019. This is an opportunity for you to find a librarian mentor who can tell you one-on-one about their experiences and offer you guidance through the year. Students will be paired with mentors who are already working in their targeted fields.
