School of Information Studies student groups design, manage, and maintain their own websites as part of their commitment to student organizations and societies. The School provides space and technical support to assist them in this endeavour. Read on for links and information about the student groups.
MLISSA helps coordinate student activities and ensures that student concerns are made known to the School, the Faculty of Education and McGill University.
An e-zine published bi-annually by MLISSA.
This group is intended to help McGill students get more connected to the Montréal and Québec library scene, whether for the short term while in school or with a long-term career in mind. Our parent ABQLA chapter hosts events, as well as an annual conference, with the aim of helping librarians develop themselves professionally and get to know other local librarians.
The ACA seeks to foster awareness, advocacy and professional development within a Canadian archival context.
The CLA student chapter's mission is to help students become active in the professional library community before graduation, and act as a liaison between our School's students and the Canadian Library Association.
The SLA is made up of students with an interest in corporate information centres, government libraries, etc. or, as they have been called, "special" libraries may be interested in this student group. They often hold meetings and outings with very interesting people.
