In coordination with the CLA chapter, we have arranged a tour of the Canadian Conservation Institute, more details, including costs and transportation to come soon! We are presently determining if we have enough participants; please contact a member of the ACA Executive to confirm!
Winter Colloquium - SIS Mansion - Friday 16 March
Don't miss the biggest ACA event of the year, our theme is "Up Close and Personal: The Challenges of Small Archives" and we are presently accepting abstracts for people who wish to present.
Workshop at the BAnQ Preservation Centre - 2275, rue Holt, Montréal - Friday 30 March, 9:30 AM
Please note that there is a limit of 30 participants for this workshop. Please contact an ACA Executive member if you wish to go, there is no cost! First, we will have a presentation on early printed books by Isabelle Robitaille, particularly focused on the materiality of books and the conservation and library aspect of this type of collection. Second, Danielle will present "A panorama of Québec posters," including the BAnQ's collection of Quebec posters, the poster as ephemera, useful information to understand this type of production, and an historical overview of over 100 posters.

Brown Bag Session
We will be holding a lunch-time brown bag session with Sarah Severson. Second-year students had the pleasure of attending Sarah’s presentation last year regarding her work with the CBC Television Archives. Sarah has recently begun a new position with the multi-media company Moment Factory (check out the website http://www.momentfactory.com/en; this is the job your inner hipster has always wanted) and will speak about her role and the challenges of retaining and ensuring access to non-print archival materials (and about working for a company that creates concert installations for the Arcade Fire, M.I.A. and Celine Dion).
